Welcome To Our Campground

Our campground has always been a family affair – we’re family, and we treat you like family. Since 1982, three generations of the Linde Family and hundreds of helpful staff members have welcomed travelers from all over the world to Yellowstone Park/West Gate KOA.

Steve Linde, who has worked here since he was a child, operates the campground with his wife, Laurel, their three boys, and dozens of full-time and seasonal employees.

If there is anything we can do to help make your stay more enjoyable, please don’t hesitate to ask. Travel safe! We can’t wait to see you around the campfire!

Yellowstone Park KOA

All Roads Lead To Our KOA!

We are easy to find, even if your GPS tracking gets a bit lost in the mountains! Here are some simple
directions to help you arrive at the best campground in the region.

  • From the east
  • From the north
  • From the south

KOA directions from the east

From the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park as you leave the park heading west into the community of West Yellowstone, go one block on Yellowstone Avenue and turn right on Canyon Street, the four-way stop. Go two blocks to Firehole Avenue, which is the second stoplight. Take a left on Firehole, which is also U.S. Highway 20, and go west for six miles on the highway. You’ll see the bright welcoming sign for our Yellowstone Park/West Gate KOA on the right.

KOA directions from the north

As you drive south into West Yellowstone, turn right at the first stoplight you come to. That’s Firehole Avenue/U.S. Highway 20 and you’ll go six miles to our KOA on the right.

KOA directions from the south

If you are coming from the south and west from Idaho, you will cross the Continental Divide and the Montana/Idaho state line at the top of Targhee Pass. Just travel another three miles and you’ll see the Yellowstone Park/West Gate KOA on your left.

We love our campers, and they love us!

We’re proud of our 2021 KOA Founder’s Award and 2018 KOA President’s Award because they reflect the views of our campers.

Each year, KOA gathers guest surveys from more than a quarter million of its campers after their campground stays. That important feedback is combined with results of an annual inspection process to qualify the over 500 KOA campgrounds across the U.S. and Canada for a set of awards – the Founder’s and the President’s Awards.

Our 2018 President’s and 2021 Founder’s Awards show we excel in providing great camping facilities and consistently high levels of guest service. We are dedicated to providing great KOA camping and we thank our campers for recognizing our efforts.
